*GREETING
Cristen Vaughn, Lay Reader

Hear the good news! Jesus Christ lives!
The Lord is risen!
Because of God’s enduring grace, all who believe in Jesus shall live with him!
Christ is risen, risen indeed!

*OPENING HYMN
Holy Spirit, Come, Confirm Us, UMH 331

Holy Spirit, come, confirm us in the truth that Christ makes known;
We have faith and understanding through your helping gifts alone.

Holy Spirit, come, console us, come as advocate to plead;
Loving Spirit stand beside us, grant in Christ the help we need.

Holy Spirit, come, renew us, come yourself to make us live;
Make us holy through your presence, holy through the gifts you give.

Holy Spirit, come, fulfill us, you the love of Three in One;
Bring our lives to full completion through your work in us begun.

*OPENING PRAYER
God, you are indeed God, and you are good. We praise you this morning and acknowledge that you bless us from morning until evening, throughout the years of our lives. As we continue to live in the hope of Easter, remind us of your holy and enduring presence, and may the light of Jesus Christ shine through us as your Holy Spirit moves within us. Amen.

SERMON
Do You Believe?, The Reverend Alan Felton

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
Apostles’ Creed, UMH 881

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

*GLORIA PATRI
UMH 70

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

OFFERING

OFFERTORY
More Love to Thee, O Christ
(arr. Joshua Evanovich)

*DOXOLOGY
Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow, UMH 94

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise God, all creatures here below:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise God, the source of all our gifts! Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts!
Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

*CLOSING HYMN
Thine Be the Glory, UMH 308

Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son;
endless is the victory thou o’er death hast won.
Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away,
kept the folded grave clothes where thy body lay.

Refrain:
Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son;
endless is the victory thou o’er death hast won.

Lo! Jesus meets thee, risen from the tomb;
lovingly he greets thee, scatters fear and gloom.
Let the church with gladness hymns of triumph sing,
for our Lord now liveth; death hath lost its sting.  [Refrain]

No more we doubt thee, glorious Prince of life!
Life is naught without thee; aid us in our strife.
Make us more than conquerors, through thy deathless love;
bring us safe through Jordan to thy home above.  [Refrain]
