ADVENT & CHRISTMAS EVENTS
This is a busy time of year. Our calendars are filled. Our "to-do" lists are long. The pressure increases day-by-day as we scurry about finding the perfect gifts for those we love the most. The weeks leading up to Christmas can be exhausting.
It doesn't have to be this way. These weeks are called Advent in the church. Advent is a time when we prepare for the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth. Yet, this preparation, while it is purposeful, is also restful. Are you feeling burned out? Impatient? Worried? God is ready to give you peace and comfort. Breath deeply. Relax. God is with you.
Take a look at our schedule of worship services and other events during December. You are invited to come as you are to any or all of them. Find a new way to celebrate the season this year. As the prophet Isaiah tells us, "Arise, shine; for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you" (Isaiah 60:1). We welcome you at Benson Memorial. We hope to see you soon.
